For many years now we have been dependent on Google to send us traffic and we do appreciate all the traffic Google has sent to us, but relying on one source for the majority of our traffic is becoming very risky.
On the 24th June 2009, Google geo-targeted our store for Australian traffic only, even though we sell products internationally. We have since made a change in policy to reduce our dependence on Google and we are very pleased to say over the last 6 month we have been able to reduce our dependence on Google by a huge 30%, thanks to Social Media Marketing.
We have been working hard in the background on Social Media Marketing, including Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, LinkedIn and so on. We do expect to further reduce our dependence on Google by another 30% to 40% over the coming year.
