General Shipping Information
Better Computers accepts orders from both Australian and
International Customers. For International Customers acceptance of orders is subject to
applicable Australia Laws.
Shipping Costs are displayed under your Shopping Cart information
box when there is an item to purchase in your Shopping Cart. When there is 0 items in your
Shopping Cart there is no shipping costs to calculate and therefore the Shipping Costs
information box is not displayed. You will need to provide your postcode and country in
order for Better Computers to calculate your shipping costs. The shipping costs are
calculated live by submitting your postcode and country details that you supply along with the
weight of the items in your shopping cart to Australia Post which in turn
calculates the exact shipping costs and returns the value back to Better Computers in
real time.
Availability refers to the amount of time needed before Better Computers can
ship your order out. The Availability for a product is displayed for each product
Better Computers sells. Orders are usually shipped within the Availability period using
Australia Post or Couriers Please, however, there are times when this is not possible.
For example, when a product is on back order and a supplier is out of stock. In this case,
orders are not shipped until more stock is available. There are also many times when orders are
shipped early, such as when Better Computers has stock of all the items in your shopping cart.
In this case orders are shipped either the same day or the next business day. Once an order has been
passed onto a carrier service, the Customer fully accepts responsibility for any orders lost,
stolen or damaged. Better Computers will, when possible, keep receipts and tracking numbers to
help you locate a lost order. If insurance is undertaken before shipping, the Customer can make
any claims to the carrier company directly for any lost, stolen or damaged goods. Australia Post
policy does not allow Computer equipment/parts to be insured, however, Couriers Please does insure
Computer equipment/parts and insurance is included in the shipping costs.
Better Computers uses Australia Post for lighter orders below 15kg and Couriers Please for heavier
orders that are 15kg or more, up to a maximum of 40kg. When an order exceeds 40kg then the only
shipping option available is Store Pickup, where either you, or a Courier sent by you, can pick up
your order.
Software Warranty and Returns
All software provided is subject to the terms and conditions of the license
agreement relating to that software. Customer acknowledges its obligations to abide by such
license agreements. Customer acknowledges that Better Computers does not warrant any software
under these Terms & Conditions. All software is warranted in accordance with the license agreement
that governs its use. All rights, title or interest in respect of the intellectual property rights
in the software remain with the licensor of the software at all times. Returns of software is NOT
allowed by Better Computers. This extends to software licence keys and OEM software. If any
software is found to be in-operable or un-usable the issue is to be resolved between the licensee
and the licensor.
Hardware Warranty and Returns
Unless specified otherwise, Better Computers warrants to the Customer that
Better Computers supplied Products, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship affecting
normal use for a period of one year from invoice date ("Standard Warranty"). This Standard Warranty
does not cover damage, fault, failure or malfunction due to external causes, including accident, abuse,
misuse, problems with electrical power, usage and/or storage and/or installation not in accordance with
Product instructions, failure to perform required preventive maintenance, normal wear and tear, act of
God, fire, flood, war, act of violence or any similar occurrence; any attempt by any person other than
Better Computers personnel or any person authorised by Better Computers, to adjust, repair or support
the Products and problems caused by use of parts and components not supplied by Better Computers. The
Standard Warranty does not cover any items that are in one or more of the following categories: software;
external devices; accessories or parts added to the Product after the Product is shipped from Better Computers;
accessories or parts that are not installed in the Better Computers workshop. During the one-year period
beginning on the invoice date, Better Computers will repair or replace Products returned to Better Computers
premises. All shipping and transportation costs are paid by the customer. This includes prepaying the
shipping and transportation charges before Better Computers will ship the repaired or replaced products
to the Customer. If the shipment is not insured the Customer accepts the risk of loss or damage during
shipment and transportation.
Better Computers does not give any warranty that the Products are fit for any particular purpose and this
Standard Warranty is given in place of all warranties, conditions, terms, undertakings and obligations implied
by statute, common law, trade usage, course of dealing or otherwise including warranties or conditions of
merchantability, fitness for purpose, satisfactory quality and/or compliance with description, all of which
are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Customer agrees that, in relation to third party products purchased through Better Computers, where such
Products are covered by a relevant manufacturers warranty, then the Standard Warranty shall not extend to
such Products and such manufacturers warranty shall be the sole warranty in respect of such Products. The
Customer shall utilise that warranty for the support of such Products and in any event not look to
Better Computers for such warranty support.
Returns Other Then Warranty
Returns can only accepted for products that are in their original unopened and undamaged
packaging. A Return Authorisation (RA) number must be obtained first, before shipping the product back to
Better Computers, by contacting a Better Computers staff member first. The RA number should be clearly displayed
and visible on the product returned, otherwise the return will not be accepted. The Customer shall pay all shipping
and transportation charges with relation to the return of any product back to Better Computers. A restocking fee of
15% will be deducted from any money refunded after a product is returned. This fee is charged to Better Computers
by it's suppliers and is therefore passed onto the customer. When a Customer uses a Credit card to make a purchase,
a refund will be via the same Credit Card used to make the purchase, less any fees that are charged to Better Computers.
Our credit Card Clearing House charges approximately 6% in fees, which are not refundable. All other refunds paid will
be made with a cheque drawn from an Australian Bank. Any additional charges and fees that your bank or institution may
charge you will be born by you the Customer.
